Learning French at Alliance Francaise
REGULAR FRENCH COURSES:
Beginner level (35 hours N1):
Each session lasts approximately 7 weeks. At the end
of this level, you will be able to understand Basic
French in daily life.
Elementary level (70 hours N2):
At the end of this level, you will be able to understand
correctly some text and oral productions on various
fields. You will also be able to express yourself on
various subjects to some extend.
1st Degree (175 hours N3, N4, N5):
At the end of this level, you are supposed to be almost
fluent in the four skills: oral and written comprehension,
oral and written expression.
2nd Degree (350 hours C1 to C5):
These are the advanced levels, by the end of these levels
you are suppose to be very fluent in speaking, reading,
writing and comprehension.
3rd Degree (490 hours G1 to G4)
These are the superior levels after completing all these
levels a student is able to sit for the exam of “Diplôme
de Langue”. The student is supposed to understand
the French literature and civilization of these levels.
SPECIFIC COURSES:
- Conversation classes: for intermediate
and advanced students.
- Intensive summer classes: in July
and August.
- Intensive classes: for students
going to France for studies.
- Children classes: a complete motivating
course for the young up to 13 years old.
- DELF and DALF preparation classes:
a one month course to prepare these exams.
- Private tuition: for preparing
O or A level for instance.
- Class on demand: to meet one Company
or Institution’s Needs.
- Businesses french class, French for Tourism:
business or tourism oriented classes for intermediates
or advanced.
- Translation class: only for advanced
students.

Learn French at your own place through internet thanks
to “ French on Line” a programme jointly
managed by French Embassy, Allama Iqbal Open University,
Comsats and The Alliances Françaises Network
in Pakistan.
Alliance Française of Karachi welcomes the
face-to-face fortnightly classes with the Tutor.
CERTIFICATES AND DIPLOMAS:
DELF 1:
The Diploma of French Language Studies is divided in
4 Units; each unit requires an average of 100 hours
of teaching. DELF is delivered officially by the French
Ministry of National Education.
DELF 2:
All candidates having DELF 1 can apply for any of the
2 units of DELF 2.
DALF:
The Diploma of Further Studies in the French Language
is also divided in 4 units; it requires mastering all
the skills to succeed. DALF exempts its holder of the
language test for entry in French universities.
TEF:
The Test for Evaluation of French assesses the fluency
of the non native speakers of French. Internationally
recognized, it is requested for emigration purpose,
by the Canadian authorities for instance.
CERTIFICAT DE FRANÇAIS COMMERCIAL
:
French for Business Certificate.
CERTIFICAT DE TRADUCTION :
Certificate for commercial or technical translation.
